00:00:00 --> 00:00:03 It's the last episode of the season. It feels
00:00:03 --> 00:00:07 so good. I know, right? It feels so good to be
00:00:07 --> 00:00:10 able to say that we're wrapping up our final
00:00:10 --> 00:00:14 episode of the season. It's a new year. Great
00:00:14 --> 00:00:18 things are here to come. Thank you for coming
00:00:18 --> 00:00:20 back from our replay reviews. My name is Leah.
00:00:20 --> 00:00:22 And my name is Kathy. We are two friends who
00:00:22 --> 00:00:25 are here to replay, review, and analyze your
00:00:25 --> 00:00:27 favorite video games. And since Kathy has never
00:00:27 --> 00:00:29 seen the games before, it helps me view them
00:00:29 --> 00:00:32 through her fresh eyes, almost like I'm discovering
00:00:32 --> 00:00:34 them again for the first time. We hope it will
00:00:34 --> 00:00:43 be a similar experience for you. By far, one
00:00:43 --> 00:00:46 of the best things to help summarize the season
00:00:46 --> 00:00:49 is our favorite moments in each game. In our
00:00:49 --> 00:00:52 first game this season, which seems so long ago,
00:00:52 --> 00:00:57 was Red Dead Redemption. I really liked noticing
00:00:57 --> 00:01:01 Reyes at Olende's villa. That was just a fun
00:01:01 --> 00:01:04 little moment. My favorite moment has to be the
00:01:04 --> 00:01:07 Mexican standoff scene where I'm like, there's
00:01:07 --> 00:01:09 a phrase for this. And you're like, just wait,
00:01:09 --> 00:01:13 just wait. And yeah, I love the subtle jokes
00:01:13 --> 00:01:16 and the lighthearted moments of this. Any moment
00:01:16 --> 00:01:18 that brought out John's personality is what I
00:01:18 --> 00:01:20 liked. But the Mexican standoff scene is by far
00:01:20 --> 00:01:23 one of the best. Or even things like Abraham
00:01:23 --> 00:01:25 falling off the horse, like small, subtle things
00:01:25 --> 00:01:28 like that. Yeah, well, even the game just has
00:01:28 --> 00:01:30 a great sense of humor. Even somehow it has physical
00:01:30 --> 00:01:38 comedy in the game. Mafia 2. Peaches. Obviously.
00:01:39 --> 00:01:42 That's my favorite moment. On a more serious
00:01:42 --> 00:01:45 in -game note, though, I love it when Vito finally
00:01:45 --> 00:01:49 gets mad at Joe, as short -lived as it was. I
00:01:49 --> 00:01:51 still like that's the most I liked Vito's character.
00:01:51 --> 00:01:55 For me, it's the overall favorite moment is just
00:01:55 --> 00:01:58 how much we genuinely hated Vito or just complete
00:01:58 --> 00:02:01 not hated, but just got annoyed with him. The
00:02:01 --> 00:02:04 specific moment in this game that is one of my
00:02:04 --> 00:02:06 favorite is the lady that we hit and she does
00:02:06 --> 00:02:12 a full 360 like a corkscrew turn and just flops
00:02:12 --> 00:02:17 around. And then her saying, excuse me. As if
00:02:17 --> 00:02:21 it was her fault at all. Moving forward. The
00:02:21 --> 00:02:25 Forest. This one's a bit hard. Specifically about
00:02:25 --> 00:02:28 the game, it's really hard to pinpoint a certain
00:02:28 --> 00:02:32 scene. Maybe our genuine disgust with the human
00:02:32 --> 00:02:35 flesh in a container. Why were there so many
00:02:35 --> 00:02:40 nipples in that room? Yeah, just pure flesh.
00:02:40 --> 00:02:42 And why was it just only one? color skin tone
00:02:42 --> 00:02:45 and not a mix of different bodies in there anyways
00:02:45 --> 00:02:49 yeah if there's more than two nipples to me signifies
00:02:49 --> 00:02:52 more than one body unless who knows it became
00:02:52 --> 00:02:55 like some kind of feeding thing and it's like
00:02:55 --> 00:03:00 into pig mode with multiple nipples i don't know
00:03:00 --> 00:03:04 do pigs have multiple nipples Okay. We got it.
00:03:04 --> 00:03:07 We got it. Whoa. Okay. Okay. Reign it in again.
00:03:07 --> 00:03:09 Is that your favorite moment? No, my favorite
00:03:09 --> 00:03:12 moment is another tangent, which is when he talked
00:03:12 --> 00:03:14 about your experience working in imaging and
00:03:14 --> 00:03:19 how the patient didn't notice you until one moment
00:03:19 --> 00:03:22 where you're in the corner. The man is with this
00:03:22 --> 00:03:24 wife who is experiencing the best moment in her
00:03:24 --> 00:03:28 life. And he turns and sees you. Mortifying.
00:03:29 --> 00:03:32 That random tangent was my favorite moment. That's
00:03:32 --> 00:03:34 come up so many times. I think we've cut it out
00:03:34 --> 00:03:39 multiple times. It's so good, though. Man. Okay.
00:03:39 --> 00:03:42 Well, my favorite moment from the forest. Just
00:03:42 --> 00:03:44 the start of the game. I like the feeling of
00:03:44 --> 00:03:47 desperation. It just expertly makes you feel
00:03:47 --> 00:03:49 desperate. You have nothing. You're just frantically
00:03:49 --> 00:03:52 grabbing everything you can from the plane. And
00:03:52 --> 00:03:54 you just set out, not really knowing what to
00:03:54 --> 00:03:57 do or how to survive. And I love it. I love that
00:03:57 --> 00:04:01 feeling. Uncharted. Do you want to know my favorite
00:04:01 --> 00:04:06 moment? Was it the finger guns? The end credits.
00:04:06 --> 00:04:10 Oh, Leah. Oh, no. Honest, real moment, though.
00:04:10 --> 00:04:14 Real pick. When Nathan wants to quit and he and
00:04:14 --> 00:04:17 Elena argue. We talked about it in that episode,
00:04:17 --> 00:04:22 but I liked how realistic it was. showing a fault
00:04:22 --> 00:04:25 in his character i do too i like that i have
00:04:25 --> 00:04:29 two one of the not so serious one is when you
00:04:29 --> 00:04:33 compared my finger gun motion to nate doing it
00:04:33 --> 00:04:36 and us having the same stupid look on our faces
00:04:36 --> 00:04:38 when we did that but within the game one of my
00:04:38 --> 00:04:42 favorite was when elena told him to be careful
00:04:42 --> 00:04:44 and he's like oh yeah of course he turns around
00:04:44 --> 00:04:47 and just smacks his head into the edge of the
00:04:47 --> 00:04:50 wall i really like that It was the first kind
00:04:50 --> 00:04:53 of lighthearted, quirky, and it kind of set the
00:04:53 --> 00:04:56 tone of like what we can expect the rest of this
00:04:56 --> 00:05:01 game. Last game, which is Undead Nightmare. Yes.
00:05:02 --> 00:05:06 Not about the game, but our recording is my transition
00:05:06 --> 00:05:09 from he's going to have hemorrhoids to you being
00:05:09 --> 00:05:12 like, yeah, because he swallowed a whole eyeball.
00:05:12 --> 00:05:16 He's gonna. Yeah. Just the overall. vibes of
00:05:16 --> 00:05:19 this game was just a fantastic way to end up
00:05:19 --> 00:05:22 to end the season i just said the start it's
00:05:22 --> 00:05:25 an impeccable feeling of cozy nostalgic horror
00:05:25 --> 00:05:28 mixed with comedy it's delightful it's so well
00:05:28 --> 00:05:31 done i was immediately invested and excited to
00:05:31 --> 00:05:34 play this game it's just honestly it's so well
00:05:34 --> 00:05:39 done it's like whistleblower level dlc so overall
00:05:39 --> 00:05:43 what was your favorite game this season i was
00:05:43 --> 00:05:46 gonna say Speaking of, I think Undead Nightmare
00:05:46 --> 00:05:47 might have to be my favorite game of the season.
00:05:48 --> 00:05:52 I like Red Dead Redemption better. But there
00:05:52 --> 00:05:54 was something about just the lineup this season.
00:05:54 --> 00:05:56 Undead Nightmare was just the perfect way to
00:05:56 --> 00:05:59 end it. That makes sense. I also had similar
00:05:59 --> 00:06:02 thoughts to it. And in terms of plot, it would
00:06:02 --> 00:06:06 have been maybe Red Dead Redemption. A lot of
00:06:06 --> 00:06:08 it is because I didn't play it. I think Uncharted
00:06:08 --> 00:06:10 might have been my favorite game. And I know
00:06:10 --> 00:06:12 you're going to get mad at me because you suffered.
00:06:12 --> 00:06:14 No, I get it. Playing this. I get it. But from
00:06:14 --> 00:06:17 my perspective where the only experience I had
00:06:17 --> 00:06:19 playing this game was just the jet ski scene.
00:06:19 --> 00:06:22 And I was frustrated. But it wasn't enough. I
00:06:22 --> 00:06:27 got to go through this game without being frustrated
00:06:27 --> 00:06:30 from playing this. And it just had this similar
00:06:30 --> 00:06:33 to Undead Nightmare. It had this wholesome feel
00:06:33 --> 00:06:37 to it. It's so early 2000s nostalgic. Yeah, I
00:06:37 --> 00:06:39 get it. I mean, if I just watched a compilation
00:06:39 --> 00:06:42 of the cutscenes, I would love it. The issue
00:06:42 --> 00:06:44 is just strictly with the gameplay. But it's
00:06:44 --> 00:06:49 such a big issue that I can't get over it. Should
00:06:49 --> 00:06:52 we move on to the next topic? Yes. Alright, this
00:06:52 --> 00:06:55 is the IMDb scores where I guess what the scores
00:06:55 --> 00:06:57 are. These are not the scores that I give it
00:06:57 --> 00:07:01 personally. These are scores that I think they
00:07:01 --> 00:07:06 have on IMDb. All right, so my guess for Red
00:07:06 --> 00:07:12 Dead Redemption is 8 .7. Ooh. It's actually more
00:07:12 --> 00:07:15 well -loved than what you think, which is 9 .4.
00:07:16 --> 00:07:21 I am happy to be off on that one. Yeah. Kate?
00:07:21 --> 00:07:24 All right, Mafia 2. I have a feeling people don't
00:07:24 --> 00:07:27 dislike it as much as we do, so I am guessing
00:07:27 --> 00:07:34 7 .2. Ooh, it's actually 8 .5. surprisingly higher
00:07:34 --> 00:07:38 than what i would put it i don't agree honestly
00:07:38 --> 00:07:42 nor do i someone said a game you won't forget
00:07:42 --> 00:07:47 smooth gameplay lovable characters smooth gameplay
00:07:47 --> 00:07:50 yeah not to be offensive but are they deaf did
00:07:50 --> 00:07:54 they did they listen to the audio issues okay
00:07:54 --> 00:07:58 my guess for the forest i i have a feeling it's
00:07:58 --> 00:08:00 going to be higher than this but i gave it 7
00:08:00 --> 00:08:04 .5 Right on the money. 7 .5. Really? Yeah. Oh,
00:08:04 --> 00:08:10 my gosh. Oh, Uncharted. This one's hard because
00:08:10 --> 00:08:15 I know it's a beloved game. I know I'm going
00:08:15 --> 00:08:18 to be wrong, but I'm going to guess 6 .7. That
00:08:18 --> 00:08:25 low? Wow. Yeah. 8 .4. Doesn't deserve that. Not
00:08:25 --> 00:08:28 going to lie. Those are nostalgia ratings. Although,
00:08:28 --> 00:08:30 did you write this? Great opening game for a
00:08:30 --> 00:08:33 pioneer franchise, but really flawed? Agree.
00:08:33 --> 00:08:37 That is my consensus. Does Undead Nightmare have
00:08:37 --> 00:08:41 its own IMDb page? Mm -hmm. 2010. I'm going to
00:08:41 --> 00:08:48 give this one, my guess, 9 .1. 8 .4? I'm surprised
00:08:48 --> 00:08:51 it's that much lower than Red Dead, though. 8
00:08:51 --> 00:08:56 .4 compared to 9 .4. So, whole point difference.
00:08:57 --> 00:09:00 Well, I agree with a lot of them. I understand
00:09:00 --> 00:09:03 people rating Uncharted high because I do think
00:09:03 --> 00:09:05 there's a lot of nostalgia to it. I think the
00:09:05 --> 00:09:09 most outrageous one is the Mafia 2. It doesn't
00:09:09 --> 00:09:12 deserve that. I mean, I guessed 7 .2. I don't
00:09:12 --> 00:09:14 think it's a terrible game. But I think for a
00:09:14 --> 00:09:17 definitive edition, they should have tried harder.
00:09:17 --> 00:09:20 Let me double check if I chose definitive version.
00:09:22 --> 00:09:23 I didn't even think about that. Oh, definitive
00:09:23 --> 00:09:30 edition. Hold on. 7 .8 compared to the non -definitive
00:09:30 --> 00:09:34 one is 8 .5. So that seems a bit more in line.
00:09:35 --> 00:09:39 Well, on that note, should we move on to the
00:09:39 --> 00:09:44 next topic? Yes. KFC Awards. In our first category,
00:09:44 --> 00:09:48 we have the Extra Crispy KFC. So out of all the
00:09:48 --> 00:09:51 KFCs I chose this season, I'll let you choose.
00:09:51 --> 00:09:54 But a quick reminder, in Red Dead Redemption,
00:09:54 --> 00:09:59 I had Abigail. Mafia 2, Henry. The Force, Jessica
00:09:59 --> 00:10:04 Cross. Uncharted, Elena. It's obvious, and if
00:10:04 --> 00:10:06 it's not, you're purposefully picking someone
00:10:06 --> 00:10:09 else to spite me. Because if it's not Elena,
00:10:09 --> 00:10:12 I will flip my desk over. I was actually really
00:10:12 --> 00:10:16 nervous that you would say Abigail because you
00:10:16 --> 00:10:19 are correct. It is Alina. They're very similar
00:10:19 --> 00:10:22 in terms of having a strong female character,
00:10:22 --> 00:10:24 which you know I love those. But there's something
00:10:24 --> 00:10:26 about how empathetic she is, especially in the
00:10:26 --> 00:10:29 scene that you talked about. And she's quiet
00:10:29 --> 00:10:31 when she needs to be and she's sassy when it
00:10:31 --> 00:10:35 gives room for her to do so. So yeah, you are
00:10:35 --> 00:10:43 correct. Okay, moving on. Stalest Biscuit. Stalest
00:10:43 --> 00:10:45 Biscuit. So for Red Dead Redemption, we have
00:10:45 --> 00:10:49 the Professor. Mafia 2, we have Vito. The Forest,
00:10:49 --> 00:10:51 we have the host at the end of the game. And
00:10:51 --> 00:10:55 for Uncharted, we have Navarro. I know we had
00:10:55 --> 00:10:59 some back and forth about Navarro. And I might
00:10:59 --> 00:11:01 have made a point or two that would maybe make
00:11:01 --> 00:11:06 you pull back a little bit on him. Vito is a
00:11:06 --> 00:11:10 good option. I think the professor is too much
00:11:10 --> 00:11:13 of a D -bag. And the host at the end of the forest,
00:11:13 --> 00:11:16 I feel like, is too freaky. My gut is telling
00:11:16 --> 00:11:21 me it's Vito. Mm -hmm. Wow, two for two. I mean,
00:11:21 --> 00:11:24 like, if six episodes of us complaining about
00:11:24 --> 00:11:26 him isn't enough, like, I don't know what to
00:11:26 --> 00:11:30 tell you. He's blamed as heck, man. And then,
00:11:30 --> 00:11:33 ultimate Kentucky Scorcher. We have Red Dead
00:11:33 --> 00:11:38 Redemption, Dutch. Mafia 2, Henry. I crave Henry.
00:11:43 --> 00:11:49 Yes. The Force, The Pilot, and Uncharted Nathan.
00:11:50 --> 00:11:53 Well, you know who I would pick, but my brain
00:11:53 --> 00:11:55 is telling me you picked Nathan, but my gut is
00:11:55 --> 00:11:59 telling me you picked Dutch. I'm going to go.
00:12:01 --> 00:12:06 It's Nathan. No, it's Henry. No, I thought you
00:12:06 --> 00:12:08 were going to get three for three. I thought
00:12:08 --> 00:12:09 I was going to start celebrating until you heard
00:12:09 --> 00:12:12 Dutch. I'm like, wait, wait, what? No, it's actually
00:12:12 --> 00:12:17 Henry. So it was actually going to be Nathan.
00:12:17 --> 00:12:20 But then I just for a moment, I couldn't quite
00:12:20 --> 00:12:22 remember their faces because it was just so close.
00:12:22 --> 00:12:25 I Googled both of them. And then I saw an aged
00:12:25 --> 00:12:28 up Nathan Drake, which I know it's not his fault.
00:12:28 --> 00:12:32 But it coming up on Google being the first few
00:12:32 --> 00:12:35 images that I saw. I'm just cracking up, but
00:12:35 --> 00:12:40 it's not his fault. I know. I mean, it's on me
00:12:40 --> 00:12:43 for not specifying when I want to see Nathan
00:12:43 --> 00:12:47 Drake. So I saw the guy, Nathan Fillion. That's
00:12:47 --> 00:12:51 not my generation, so I didn't crush on him like
00:12:51 --> 00:12:53 those people who watch Firefly. So it was either
00:12:53 --> 00:12:56 someone a bit too sleazy and someone who's aged
00:12:56 --> 00:12:59 up and who looked too much like an actor I didn't
00:12:59 --> 00:13:03 care about. So it was Henry. Nathan Fillion is
00:13:03 --> 00:13:07 getting roasted in this conversation. All right.
00:13:07 --> 00:13:11 Well, with all that done, let's get into what
00:13:11 --> 00:13:14 to expect for next season. There's no reason
00:13:14 --> 00:13:15 to keep it secret, is there? I think we should
00:13:15 --> 00:13:18 just get into it. Yep. I mean, it's season five.
00:13:19 --> 00:13:21 It's a big deal. So we're going to do something
00:13:21 --> 00:13:24 a little different. And we're going to devote
00:13:24 --> 00:13:28 the entire season to Red Dead 2. Unsurprisingly.
00:13:29 --> 00:13:31 If you asked me, nine times out of ten, this
00:13:31 --> 00:13:33 would be my favorite game. It's got insane detail.
00:13:34 --> 00:13:36 It's got a lot of depth. And we want to be sure
00:13:36 --> 00:13:39 we do it justice. What exactly the season will
00:13:39 --> 00:13:42 look like? We're not sure. We've got some ideas,
00:13:42 --> 00:13:44 but we don't want to commit to anything yet.
00:13:44 --> 00:13:47 But once we do know, we'll release a season announcement
00:13:47 --> 00:13:49 trailer like we normally do and probably post
00:13:49 --> 00:13:53 on socials. But yeah, I'm really excited for
00:13:53 --> 00:13:57 season five. Milestone season. Me too. We're
00:13:57 --> 00:14:00 going back to the basics in a way where more
00:14:00 --> 00:14:03 focus on a single game and less distraction about
00:14:03 --> 00:14:07 getting through as many games as we can within
00:14:07 --> 00:14:09 a season. So we're hoping to bring back some
00:14:09 --> 00:14:12 of the OG vibes that you got from season one.
00:14:12 --> 00:14:14 We're slowing it down a bit. And we're going
00:14:14 --> 00:14:17 to carry that momentum into season six and do
00:14:17 --> 00:14:20 fewer games, but give more detail to the games.
00:14:21 --> 00:14:23 Thank you for all your support these last four
00:14:23 --> 00:14:28 years. I appreciate all the positive feedback
00:14:28 --> 00:14:32 we've received. It means a lot to us. Like you
00:14:32 --> 00:14:35 said, we appreciate the feedback. Old and new
00:14:35 --> 00:14:37 listeners. Toast is tearing up paper behind me.
00:14:38 --> 00:14:40 He just had to make one more appearance this
00:14:40 --> 00:14:44 season. And we're very thankful to have surpassed
00:14:44 --> 00:14:47 100 episodes. It's been an extra special season,
00:14:47 --> 00:14:49 and we're hoping to follow it up with another
00:14:49 --> 00:14:52 special season. I'm really looking forward to
00:14:52 --> 00:14:56 what... 2026 has for us season 5 of this podcast.

00:15:05 --> 00:15:11 next year. Oh god, don't mind me. Oh gosh. On
00:15:11 --> 00:15:15 that note, should we end it? Yes, we have to.
