00:00:00
In this episode, I think the florist could be blind.
00:00:04
Still, nobody can walk or run correctly.
00:00:07
And step aside, Dinky.
00:00:12
Thank you for coming back from our replay reviews.
00:00:14
My name is Leah.
00:00:15
And my name is Cathy.
00:00:16
We are two friends who are here to replay, review, and analyze your favorite video games.
00:00:21
And since Cathy has never seen the games before, it helps me view them through her fresh eyes,
00:00:25
almost like I'm discovering them again for the first time.
00:00:28
We hope it'll be a similar experience for you.
00:00:37
Chapter 8, Suspect.
00:00:39
We see a police meeting where the video of Date looks rather convincing.
00:00:44
Sudo is sure something's not right.
00:00:47
And he fights for Date, but he's still ordered to arrest him.
00:00:52
That is a massive TV projector thing.
00:00:55
Why do they need it to be that big?
00:00:57
And up close, it's ridiculously large.
00:01:02
We're back to Serena.
00:01:03
Sayama wants to turn herself in to save Date, but Kawara says that they're not going to change their minds.
00:01:10
Kiryu heads to the florist to see if he can track down Daigo.
00:01:14
He's also questioning the florist, not only about Daigo, but about the tape of Date.
00:01:21
Then the florist says, if I'd seen it first, I would never have handed over a tape so full of holes as evidence.
00:01:27
It was submitted behind my back, so he has a rat.
00:01:31
What I don't understand is with all his resources, why can't he, and all his cameras,
00:01:36
why can't he look internally to see who submitted it behind his back?
00:01:39
I feel like the florist either is just stupid, which I don't think is the case,
00:01:45
or he probably has like another agenda.
00:01:49
Yeah, this is the start of him like, dude, are you blind?
00:01:52
This should be pretty easy to spot, as we'll see shortly.
00:01:57
They start using the monitors to track down Daigo, but the power soon gets cut,
00:02:02
and it turns out a group of men are attacking the transformer room.
00:02:06
They appear to be being led by Hayashi from Kiwami 1 of the Omi Alliance, but he now works for Ryuji.
00:02:14
Hayashi is so pointless in this game.
00:02:17
I know.
00:02:18
So they get the power back on.
00:02:21
Again, they're tracking down Daigo, but now someone starts hacking them,
00:02:25
and we see who, and he's in the room, right in front of them, but they don't see him.
00:02:32
And now Sayama has to jump into action, and she is able to out hack him.
00:02:38
But the way the florist is just praising her, like she's in her element,
00:02:42
it's kind of cringy to see this entire interaction, and then Kiryu is like,
00:02:46
oh, I'm falling for her, look how cool she is.
00:02:50
Yeah, it's weird.
00:02:51
And then the rat just gets up and walks, like how do they not notice this guy?
00:02:55
She's a police, yet she has no observation skills.
00:02:59
And the florist literally observes for his whole life, and he can't even figure it out.
00:03:04
Mm-hmm.
00:03:05
Anyway, they are able to locate Daigo, so they head to the Shangri-La to go get him.
00:03:10
Anything before we move on to scene three?
00:03:13
Nope.
00:03:14
They arrive at the Shangri-La, and it's in disrepair, and I love Kiryu saying the truck was a little much Majima.
00:03:21
The respect he has for Majima, despite everything that they went through here.
00:03:26
Yeah.
00:03:28
They do free Daigo, and he tells them that his captors took Chairman Goto somewhere else, so
00:03:35
one down, one to go.
00:03:37
I do like Daigo's humor, though, in this environment.
00:03:40
Also, why was Sayama staring at him like that when the scene is fading out?
00:03:47
Short chapter.
00:03:48
We are now moving on to the Majima saga again for chapter two, Prodigal Son.
00:03:54
So we're back at Tojo HQ, and Majima is being blamed by Ibuchi for Uematsu's murder.
00:04:01
So we kind of think he did it right, to frame Majima at this point.
00:04:06
Definitely based on how quickly he's jumping to it and how defensive he is in making other
00:04:12
people look like it's their problem.
00:04:14
So Majima says to Ibuchi, you're going to quit yapping if I bring you the head of Uematsu's killer?
00:04:20
And he says, yeah, sure, if you can.
00:04:23
On his way out, some Uematsu guys attack him, and we learn from this encounter that
00:04:29
the men who attacked Majima's family earlier were actually Nishikawa and Uematsu.
00:04:34
They were actually not from the Uematsu family.
00:04:39
So we get another great scene with Kashiwagi and Majima, and they're chatting.
00:04:44
And even Kashiwagi knows that something's not right, and then he tells
00:04:49
Majima to go to the florist because the florist probably has some intel.
00:04:53
Oh, and his suit changed colors, remember?
00:04:56
Yes, yes, it did.
00:04:58
It went from purple to pea soup green, right?
00:05:03
Or did it go gray?
00:05:04
I can't remember.
00:05:05
It's not purple.
00:05:08
So yeah, at the florist, Majima is informed that this information will not be cheap,
00:05:13
and in return, the florist wants him to take over operations of Purgatory.
00:05:18
He's out of his mind.
00:05:20
Why would you know Majima's history, and yet you still want to chain him back into his birdcage
00:05:26
for a piece of information that might not even be that great?
00:05:31
You bring up a good point, though.
00:05:32
Maybe he does know about Majima's ability to manage, like he managed at the Grand.
00:05:38
So maybe he knows that he's really good at running things.
00:05:42
So on the video that the florist pulls up, we see Kawamura, who is the driver that Majima talked to
00:05:48
in the first Majima chapter.
00:05:51
Kawamura is now in Soutenbury, so Majima has to head there next.
00:05:57
It makes sense as Kawamura because he was...
00:06:00
He seemed nosy, like his information gathering, so I'm not surprised there,
00:06:05
but I didn't think they would bring him back.
00:06:09
Majima arrives in Soutenbury again.
00:06:11
He says, back here, of all places.
00:06:13
I don't like it because I know what he's been through, and I feel like the florist should have
00:06:18
just told him where instead of making him run around the city.
00:06:22
Yeah, does he only have cameras in Tokyo, maybe?
00:06:26
I don't know.
00:06:26
I don't know. Anyway, Majima knows that the Grand is the best place for information,
00:06:32
so he heads there.
00:06:34
And I have to say, the difference between him and Kiryu, because they've both been in here
00:06:39
trying to get information, Majima is so much nicer.
00:06:42
He like immediately buys a bottle from the hostess.
00:06:45
He's so nice to her, and Kiryu was just like ignoring the hostess to eavesdrop on Ryuji.
00:06:52
Majima is a gentleman. He's a real man's man.
00:06:57
Majima still needs to fill in some blanks, so he heads to the Odyssey next in hopes of gathering
00:07:02
more intel, but he arrives to find it no longer exists, but thankfully does bump into Yamagata,
00:07:09
who was the manager from the Odyssey, and he tells Majima that he'd seen Kawamura at a mahjong parlor
00:07:15
above a massage parlor named Hougushi Kaikan.
00:07:19
Maybe the staff there could tell you something, he says.
00:07:22
I love his efficiency and everything.
00:07:24
Like, he doesn't waste time chit-chatting.
00:07:26
He chit-chats to get the necessary information, doesn't do side stories, and just fights.
00:07:32
And like, I think there's one part in the previous scene where he even says in his mind,
00:07:38
knock enough heads and you'll soon knock the right one.
00:07:41
Like, he just is thug-like, yet effective.
00:07:46
Yeah, he's efficient.
00:07:47
He's efficient.
00:07:49
Begrudgingly, Majima enters Hougushi Kaikan, where an employee tells him that Kawamura moved
00:07:55
to Tokyo because someone offered to pay off all his debts.
00:07:58
Very suspicious.
00:08:00
Majima tries to leave, but she's pretty good at guilting him into getting a massage.
00:08:05
He very much so does not want to, but he does cave, and it sounds like someone named Tateyama
00:08:12
will be giving his massage, and I feel like you might want to chime in here.
00:08:17
Okay, so while watching this, I was like, dude, wouldn't it have been crazy if he
00:08:23
walked in and Makoto was right there?
00:08:25
Next thing you know, who's standing right there?
00:08:28
It's freaking Makoto when she does the massage, but how could they do that to Majima?
00:08:33
You ceased to function.
00:08:37
My hands are fluttering.
00:08:38
Your hands went floppy.
00:08:40
You just started making noises.
00:08:42
I don't really know what happened to you.
00:08:44
I was in disbelief.
00:08:47
It's just how could they do that to Majima?
00:08:49
And then we don't even know much about it because the scene ends pretty abruptly.
00:08:54
But poor Majima, he recognizes her voice and then does his best to hide from her.
00:08:59
The part that just breaks my heart is when Makoto says, nice to meet you, sir.
00:09:05
Like, oh.
00:09:06
If I had to cry again for a video game, it would be for this.
00:09:13
We have to realize how much Majima truly loves her to be able to sacrifice everything
00:09:21
he has and his feelings for her protection.
00:09:25
Exactly.
00:09:27
That is actual love, as tragic as it is.
00:09:31
Anyway, we're going to have a lot more to say than we need to table up for now.
00:09:34
Yeah.
00:09:36
Should we move on to chapter nine, the Omi invasion?
00:09:39
Yep.
00:09:40
All right.
00:09:41
So at Serena, Daigo briefs Kiryu on his captors, saying they seemed military level.
00:09:46
And during this, Kashiwagi rushes in to check on Daigo,
00:09:50
who then tells them his captors called themselves the Jingwiyon.
00:09:55
But I have to say that in a rush, it was so cute.
00:09:57
Like, Kashiwagi was so concerned for Daigo.
00:10:00
He just comes rushing in.
00:10:02
And then Daigo being shy, slash maybe ashamed that he couldn't protect the chairman.
00:10:08
Kashiwagi offers him a cigarette from a box.
00:10:12
And at first, I thought it was like a juice box.
00:10:14
And I was like, oh.
00:10:16
Here you go, Ken.
00:10:17
Yeah.
00:10:19
I love Kashiwagi in this game.
00:10:21
He just seems like he's loyal to his core.
00:10:26
And he like actually cares about all of his guys.
00:10:29
He's nurturing.
00:10:30
He is.
00:10:32
Okay.
00:10:33
So it turns out Kashiwagi has heard of them before.
00:10:37
And he says the Jingwiyon, I know, were wiped out.
00:10:41
And then Sayama, who's also present, says that HQ has no record of their existence.
00:10:47
And that's because they've been erased by the police, Kashiwagi says.
00:10:51
Kashiwagi then launches into his memories from the incident 20 years ago.
00:10:56
We see a meeting between Dojima, Kazuma, and Big Baby Shimano.
00:11:03
Except he's skinny boy Shimano in this scene.
00:11:06
He's not that big in this scene.
00:11:08
He isn't bulked up yet.
00:11:09
He's on his way.
00:11:11
He's still bald though.
00:11:13
Okay.
00:11:14
How I feel like he would look ridiculous with hair.
00:11:18
I'm Googling it.
00:11:22
What'd you get?
00:11:23
What'd you get?
00:11:23
I'm Googling it.
00:11:25
This is posted on Reddit by Dark Lord Nugget.
00:11:30
Happy.
00:11:31
You're a scream.
00:11:37
That freaked me out.
00:11:39
The eyes and the hair freaked me out.
00:11:42
No, no, I don't want to keep looking at it.
00:11:46
Anyway, wow.
00:11:48
Basically, Dojima says they need to kill all of them.
00:11:51
He says, hit too soft and we've dug our own graves.
00:11:53
They have to be wiped out.
00:11:55
And I'm sorry I get pissed off at this.
00:11:57
They try to make Kazuma look like a saint being like,
00:12:00
I don't want to kill them all.
00:12:03
That's not right.
00:12:04
And then Shimano has a great point.
00:12:06
He's like, you've killed hundreds of people and you don't want to do this.
00:12:10
Agree, Shimano.
00:12:11
But in Kazuma's defense, or I don't know if it really is in his defense,
00:12:16
his style has always been more of a strategist than like heavy hitter type
00:12:23
with the violence first, think next.
00:12:26
So I'm wondering if there's some kind of connection he has to the
00:12:30
Jingwan mafia that maybe we just don't know.
00:12:35
He probably thinks there's better use for them.
00:12:38
But he does comply.
00:12:40
And it sounds like the raid bumped the Dojima family up to the level of power that we see.
00:12:45
And these games were then back to present day and Sayama asks where the police were during all of this.
00:12:51
Kashiwagi says they let the Dojima family do their jobs for them.
00:12:55
I wonder if there's so much involvement with the Jingwan mafia.
00:13:01
If that whole storyline may have been also to give us more of like a villain story for the survivors of
00:13:11
anyone who's from the Jingwan mafia, just to kind of beef it up.
00:13:14
So I think we might see more about that.
00:13:16
I'm curious how it's going to play in because if not, what a waste of time on this.
00:13:22
So after their little meeting, they decide to call it a night.
00:13:25
And the next day Kiryu heads to Turada's funeral while Sayama checks in with Osaka PD.
00:13:32
So at the funeral, Goryu men show up.
00:13:34
Then this is where one of them gets out of their car and says to Daigo, step aside, dinky.
00:13:40
Which I just can't get enough of.
00:13:43
So of course the fight starts out and there's something that looks a little
00:13:49
not like fighting happening in the background at an hour, 22, 10 seconds.
00:13:55
There's two men in the back.
00:13:59
One man looks like he's ready to fight or he's in doing something else.
00:14:05
His facial expression is kind of weird.
00:14:07
And the second man's face is shoved into his crotch.
00:14:11
Are they fighting?
00:14:12
It doesn't look like fighting to me.
00:14:14
Yeah, no, it might be some foreplay.
00:14:21
Anyway, after the brawl, for some people it was a brawl, Ryuji himself shows up and says
00:14:29
that he just wants to pay his respects, whatever.
00:14:32
Kiryu says, you're trying to be a good friend.
00:14:35
Whatever, Kiryu says, you're trying to stop the alliance.
00:14:38
And he says, of course, I feel like we already knew that from when he staged a coup originally.
00:14:45
He then dumps out a pile of cash.
00:14:49
Lady Dojima has a reaction to this and through dialogue,
00:14:53
we learn that Ryuji and Chairman Godo are not flesh and blood related.
00:14:57
Okay, so the question is, is Ryuji the boy from Jingwon,
00:15:05
which he's going to be pissed if he realizes he's not Japanese.
00:15:08
It's looking suspicious.
00:15:11
But also, how much time is this guy spending at the barbershop dyeing his hair
00:15:17
into like yellow blonde, like a banana color?
00:15:20
It's not good.
00:15:22
Yeah.
00:15:22
So when Daigo pretty much got shoved to the floor,
00:15:27
Lady Dojima immediately runs to her son, right?
00:15:31
And I feel like that's like the first time we really see this motherly affection.
00:15:36
I do like this moment.
00:15:37
And then I like when Ryuji sorta insults her a little bit
00:15:42
and Daigo tries to go punch him, but Kiryu stops him.
00:15:46
Also, they look related.
00:15:49
They do.
00:15:50
The designers did a great job making them actually look like mother and son.
00:15:55
On his way out, Ryuji says in three days, it's rematch time.
00:15:59
And then he also drops a hint that Sengoku is already in Kamurocho.
00:16:04
So we then go back to Kamurocho and we see that the Omi men have arrived,
00:16:09
but Majima is there to take them on by himself.
00:16:13
I get that you're capable, but it's one thing to be capable.
00:16:17
It's another thing to be stupid and like, it's so unnecessary.
00:16:20
Just wait five minutes for backup.
00:16:23
Kiryu and Sayama catch up and then head out to push Sengoku back.
00:16:28
On the way, they run into a very bloodied up Majima
00:16:31
who indicates that he beat all of Sengoku's men, although he says girls.
00:16:36
I think the only two people, maybe three,
00:16:41
that can actually win and come out alive in the situation is one.
00:16:45
Majima, two, Kashiwagi because he's cool like that, and three, Tachibana,
00:16:53
which I mean, that man did so much by himself too, but I just think it's incredible
00:16:59
that they include this scene just to demonstrate how capable they are.
00:17:04
And not only how capable, but how loyal Majima is because he says to Kiryu,
00:17:11
promise is a promise, right? I kept it. He did this just because Kiryu
00:17:15
asked him to give a hand to the Tojo clan.
00:17:18
Majima is the definition of loyalty.
00:17:21
Like you want him by your side and it hurts me to see him get hurt like this,
00:17:28
but also just he's not getting any positive things happening in his life.
00:17:36
It's just, yeah. And so he better not die like this.
00:17:42
He's also really smart. He tells Kiryu that he needs to go back to Tojo HQ
00:17:47
because this was all just a distraction to get him out of the way.
00:17:50
He also informs him that Sengoku has a rat in the Tojo clan, Shindo.
00:17:55
So back at HQ, Kiryu finds that the Nishikiyama family has officially flipped and is attacking.
00:18:02
After fighting his way up, we see that the Nishikiyama family has Daggo and Koshuagi captive.
00:18:08
And Shindo is holding Leiji Dojima on his lap.
00:18:13
So weird. So weird. I don't understand that.
00:18:17
And nonetheless, in front of her son, I'm jumping ahead,
00:18:22
but he pretty much confesses his love for her that he's liked her.
00:18:26
And dude, if you were together, she has like a grown son.
00:18:30
Like, do you want him to call you dad?
00:18:34
Yeah. Like I can't get a read on how old Shindo is.
00:18:38
But it's not that old.
00:18:40
I'm just really confused.
00:18:42
We have zero backstory on really either of these characters.
00:18:46
Yes.
00:18:47
It's just really odd.
00:18:49
And unnecessary.
00:18:50
Like, okay, whether or not you have a crush on her has no relevance on what you're trying to do.
00:18:57
Right. And it goes back to why I like Ryuji's
00:19:00
character so much because if this was Ryuji, he wouldn't care about Lady Dojima.
00:19:05
He would just want to take over the clan.
00:19:07
And I feel like that should be enough for Shindo to just take over the clan, which is his plan.
00:19:11
He says, as we speak, Senkoku's hitmen are wiping out the other officers.
00:19:15
I'm taking over as chairman.
00:19:18
Shouldn't that be enough of a motive for us as the audience?
00:19:22
Why are we dragging Lady Dojima into this?
00:19:24
There's too much Force Romance in this and then the non-consensual kiss was also unnecessary.
00:19:32
But for a second, though, she thought about liking it.
00:19:35
Oh, yeah.
00:19:36
The eyes closing before she's like, crap, my son's watching.
00:19:39
Right.
00:19:40
She thought about liking it for a split second.
00:19:45
She does slap him and run away.
00:19:46
We balance the scales right now.
00:19:48
It's one to one.
00:19:50
Guy slap girl, girl slap guy.
00:19:51
It won't last long.
00:19:53
So Kiryu is confronting him and Shindo says, didn't you and Patriarch Nishikiyama go to
00:20:01
war over a woman just last year?
00:20:04
He's got a point.
00:20:05
Fair.
00:20:06
Fair.
00:20:06
A lot of what he says to Kiryu is like, you know, you're not wrong.
00:20:11
I do want to point out, I think I'm very frustrated because back to the whole Yoyoi thing,
00:20:17
Shindo also points out that, like, why would you love Dojima?
00:20:22
He has like a mistress on every corner and she's like, why wouldn't I?
00:20:25
I'm so loyal to him.
00:20:28
Come on.
00:20:29
I think any ladies listening to our podcast, if your boy has multiple mistresses around
00:20:36
the corner, don't date him.
00:20:38
Don't be loyal to him.
00:20:39
Shindo's looking a lot better as the scene goes.
00:20:43
Yeah.
00:20:44
He's willing to kill for you.
00:20:46
Right?
00:20:47
Come on.
00:20:48
I also like that he called Dojima a toad.
00:20:53
It's right up there with the dinky.
00:20:55
What do you feel about his character though?
00:20:57
I really liked him and I wish he had more screen time and more of a storyline.
00:21:01
I feel like it would have been a lot more interesting to explore, like, the,
00:21:06
just the impact that Nishikiyama left on his family.
00:21:10
There could have been a lot more interesting storyline with him, but instead we get things
00:21:14
like the florist's son, which we're going to completely skip over.
00:21:18
They should have really taken some time to give more meat to his character to set him
00:21:24
up for this moment because it could have helped so much more weight and more understanding
00:21:31
like his villain story than any of the other characters.
00:21:34
Like we barely say Yayoi yet.
00:21:37
She's like, they're trying to make her significant, but it's not working well.
00:21:41
So if they really invested more in Shindo, it would have been great because even without
00:21:46
all that, I think he has a lot of potential and he kind of does.
00:21:50
I really did enjoy the scenes with him.
00:21:53
Yeah.
00:21:53
I would have liked to see maybe scenes, not even, they don't have to be playable scenes,
00:21:58
but just cut scenes of like Yayoi's perspective of realizing something's not right in the clan.
00:22:05
And then we see like little bits of like Shindo becoming more suspicious and,
00:22:09
and then maybe we get more backstory about him being in love with her.
00:22:13
And it's still good how it is, but I just wish we got more because there's so much potential.
00:22:19
Okay.
00:22:19
So after Kiryu defeats, I guess, Shindo Yayoi banishes him, but he tries to shoot her,
00:22:27
I think, or maybe Daigo, but Daigo jumps for a gun and kills him instead.
00:22:32
Do we know he's dead, dead, or is he just video game?
00:22:35
Video version dead?
00:22:36
I think he's pretty dead.
00:22:37
He gets shot a couple of times and there would have been more, but Kiryu stops him and does a little
00:22:43
head shake.
00:22:44
Stupid head shake.
00:22:46
And we were both like, why let him do it?
00:22:49
But here's the thing though, if that was Gidio on the ground, he would have lived.
00:22:53
So are we sure he's dead, dead?
00:22:55
Hold on to that line.
00:22:57
Okay.
00:22:58
Cause you're going to use it again.
00:22:59
I can guarantee you that.
00:23:02
Anyway, after all of this, Yayoi is over it.
00:23:05
She wants all the Omiya out of the city.
00:23:08
Final chapter of this part, chapter 10, survivors.
00:23:12
We're back to Date who has just learned that the Dojima family wiped out the Jinguyan.
00:23:16
Harua joins him and we learned that he and Besho were the ones on the case.
00:23:22
And he doesn't really give Date a lot of information and says,
00:23:26
I'm done answering questions.
00:23:27
And as he leaves, Tosu's Date his badge?
00:23:31
Is it Date's badge or Kawara's badge?
00:23:34
I don't know.
00:23:36
But I'm also very annoyed at Kawara just being so emotional and prissy being like,
00:23:44
I'm done with this.
00:23:45
I'm done answering questions.
00:23:47
He's tossed and walks out with the attitude.
00:23:49
Like, dude, do your job as a police officer.
00:23:52
Do your due diligence, answer questions, help him out.
00:23:56
Why are you being so dinky with your information?
00:24:00
Well, and honestly, because he goes, flip to the last page.
00:24:05
Like he gives him that hint and it says, I'm not answering questions.
00:24:08
You didn't need to give him that hint.
00:24:09
Did you really think that Date's not going to go to read every page of the binder?
00:24:13
I think he probably would.
00:24:15
I just don't understand this interaction.
00:24:17
I don't know what we're supposed to get out of it.
00:24:20
So Date then fills in Kiryu and Sayama who is very upset that her chief lied to her.
00:24:25
She not only was she just overreacting in the scene of just she goes in so hard and aggressive.
00:24:35
Calm down so you can understand the facts before you just end up just trying to rip
00:24:42
his head off and make him be accountable for all that.
00:24:45
Yeah.
00:24:46
She's really upset that basically the police were working with the Yakuza.
00:24:52
And then, okay, so she points a gun at Kiryu and this made us think of a great idea for a game or a movie.
00:25:01
Basically the same setup where she would find out the department was working with the Yakuza
00:25:07
and then she actually kills Kiryu and all of a sudden we've changed protagonist.
00:25:13
Now she's a protagonist and the rest of the story is her just going crazy, taking down the Yakuza.
00:25:21
Best plot twist ever.
00:25:24
I mean I like Kiryu but I kind of wish that.
00:25:27
No because I would love to see that and especially it's the Yakuza Huntress.
00:25:33
It would be so cool just the idea about like you're following a protagonist
00:25:37
and then halfway through the movie all of a sudden they're dead and you have a new protagonist.
00:25:42
If somebody knows of a movie or a show where they do that let us know because I need to see it.
00:25:48
Okay well after what actually happens in this game they both need to address some things in Osaka
00:25:54
so they head there but on the way Kiryu bumps into the floor's son and I don't care.
00:26:00
Get rid of him. Get rid of the scene. I don't care. It adds nothing so we skipped it entirely.
00:26:07
So after that Kiryu and Sayama meet back up and she kind of forces him to go with her to Osaka PD
00:26:15
instead of looking for Gota. At the police department she confronts Besho about the Dojima
00:26:22
family and Jingua Mafia. Honestly I think Besho does a great job with her. His first response is
00:26:29
I had no idea that was a connection so I'm not gonna just spill classified intel.
00:26:34
So basically there was there's just no other way at the time and he says that the Jingua
00:26:39
Mafia was a 36 man outfit and they only found 33 bodies and he knows about one of the three
00:26:46
survivors and he tells them where to find him. His name is Murai and he actually helped him
00:26:52
disappear to Osaka after he broke the death before dishonor code. What I don't understand is why
00:26:59
Besho telling them how to find Murai isn't that just going to undo all his effort back then to
00:27:06
spare him? Right unless he just thinks maybe he's involved with what's going on and it's too big of
00:27:11
a risk to not investigate him. Sayama gets extremely pissed when Besho says your protective custody
00:27:19
job ends today. She storms out Kiryu's still there and then Besho says to Kiryu look out for her
00:27:26
would ya? Weird. Unnecessary she can take care of herself. Kiryu asks him about the
00:27:33
Kawara shootings but he says he's already said too much so we don't get anything more out of him.
00:27:39
Alright anything else on that scene or should we finish this out? Let's finish it. Okay so
00:27:45
Kiryu tracks down Sayama who's gotten into an altercation with some Yakuza. He steps in and
00:27:52
they run from the cops together after they show up. They seem to realize they have some chemistry.
00:27:57
Hold on before we get that part we have to change the score to two to one in two guys slapping
00:28:03
Fima. Another Fima slap. Yep at least she left a handprint on his face. It was a good slap.
00:28:11
They're in the alleyway hiding from the cops and she's like hey are you free tonight?
00:28:16
And then there's a montage. So over the top. It is and it I don't know to me like you just can't
00:28:26
you can't beat Majima Makoto and the fact that they're trying to do this in Soutenbury is like
00:28:31
a slap in the face to that storyline. We were like get out of Soutenbury because that's
00:28:37
the photo and Majima's and the takoyaki. Back off there's so many other good foods. Why did you have
00:28:44
to use takoyaki? That's their thing. Quit it. Anyway then we get to the romantic rooftop moment.
00:28:51
Kiryu's drunk. Dude is drunk. She's gonna go get more beer but then they start talking instead. I
00:29:01
don't really have much to say on this moment. I don't know if you do. You do have a moment that
00:29:07
you asked me to write my notes to remind you and it's that crotch shot. There's a little too much
00:29:16
implied butt crack you know for Kiryu. Yeah. What's your next note? That was it. All right.
00:29:25
Kiryu says she should just go get some sleep and then she walks away again. Does not look like a
00:29:33
normal walk. Is she supposed to look drunk or is that just how she walks? She's supposed to look
00:29:40
flirty. That's a flirty walk. I don't know what it was. So after this Kiryu's like, I'm gonna
00:29:50
go get some sleep. I don't know what it was. So after this Kiryu decides to explore the city where
00:29:58
he runs into a tattoo artist trying to toss away a dragon design. Kiryu stops him and then goes
00:30:03
with him to his parlor. I have in my notes this part is a bit long-winded but we do learn that
00:30:09
this design is what Ryuji has. Okay cool story bro. I think this is just supposed to give more
00:30:15
on the the one true dragon fire. To be honest the one true dragon really should have been Nishiki.
00:30:23
Elaborate. My understanding is Kois are supposed to turn into dragons through enough evolution and
00:30:30
level up. So the main thing was that there's plenty of barriers and obstacles that prevented Nishiki
00:30:36
from having those opportunities to level up, demonstrate his ability to be a dragon, and
00:30:42
because he was never given the opportunities he never became a dragon and that's why he stuck with
00:30:47
the Koi tattoo. In my opinion I think that everything Nishiki has done and the fact that
00:30:53
everyone was still loyal to him in the end shows that he deserved to be the dragon. Why did Kiryu
00:31:01
why was he given that dragon tattoo at such a young age too if it's that important of a design?
00:31:07
I don't know but yeah Nishiki just does not get credit in the games. I mean I think fans give him
00:31:12
credit but in-game characters don't give him enough credit. Well any more notes on part three? No.
00:31:23
Well. Perfect. Game plays out tomorrow and we'll be talking about part four next week.
